Stanza 6: Precious Planet

Our planet is hurting, suffocating by its overpowering life form, humans. While the world’s population continues to escalate, reaching a new apogee each year, the bitterness of humanity resides in the heart of power.  She [Earth] needs help.

Why is there so much hatred in this world? A time where division seems to be heightened within our nation, resentment is prospering, incubating and spreading as a viral infection. A nation’s political system erupting over building a “Wall”. Designing a barrier on our national border will not solve the issues pertaining to immigration, rather it will increase tension and spend our financial resources. Whether you are a proponent of one political party/side on the spectrum or near the opposite end, we-the American people-face enough obstacles in this nation and are called to assist one another in times of hardship.

Where politics are crumbling with corruption, idealistic thoughts are wandering, and the turbulent motion within this battleship of our nation, we [humans] are on the verge of sinking into the great depths of our unknown oceans.

The antonym of hate is love, yet it could be argued that indifference would also fill love’s position. Where the tectonic plates of hatred diverge, the over-flowing lava of love erupts. Nature has a delicate equilibrium, teetering between life and death.

Nature favors stability and makes changes to balance any subtle shifts, yet nature alone cannot overcome the immense tension humanity has overtaken. It is critical to be aware during times of change. As protectors of Creation, we are called to serve. Our mission is to save the beauty found within this precious planet.
