Stanza 12: Poetic People

“Poetic People”

People who laugh, and people who cry,

People who sin, and people who lie,

These people, will say their goodbyes.

A minute, an hour, a day, and a year,

Are moments in one’s career.

60, 24, 365.

Numbers, and our life’s fast pace.

We first must chase,

Then race,

Finally, we circle, in space.

We will never forget a person’s face.

A face of sadness, serenity, or surprise.

A face of despair, disgust, or disguise.

People that appreciate a moment.

People that reflect, repent, and rejoice.

These people, have the largest voice.

Yet,

We all have a choice.

Pause, and it’s too late.

We must stop being the “bait.”

A lure,

Controlled by money, sex, and power.

Our generation must plant a new flower.

A kinetic plant, of change, growth, and repair.

No more despair, only clean breaths of air.

Our journey must start now.

Let’s begin to plough, sow, and vow,

A seed of poetic people pursuing purpose.

Life is like a poem filled with stanzas of people who will change the way you think and view the world.
